If you're ever discussing places like the Peel-Harvey Estuary and people say to you how lovely and clean it is, and how you can see all the way down to the bottom the water is so clear.

Do me a favour and explain to them that in actuality crystal clear water usually means that the water could be devoid of any life enhancing particles, plankton, etc etc. The water is so saline that the whole concept of what an estuary is supposed to be has disappeared.

We certainly have more Saltwater fish than ever. Tailor, Skippy, Whiting etc and that is a good thing of course but I tell you the abscence of that life giving brackish water has finished the prawns and the shallow nurseries. We'll pay for this in the long run of that I'm certain.

I'll have you know I was ON that local council during the last canal disaster and it was opposed unanimously by council. Cedarwoods then took it to the minister and he, with one or two stipulations overrode the council...

Honestly that's the main reason why I gave it away. I didn't relish the 'toothless tiger' syndrome.
