This photo taken by local SES earlier today while the river was in full flood/flow puts a few things into perspective.
Our property is the first at the front of this pic, driveway right at the bend of the road.
You can see our shed near the road, and just make out the roofline of our house amongst the trees closer to the river.
The road/pathway you can see behind, is the top of the levee bank.
Normally the river flows behind the row of rivergums along the bank...
This river is 80cms lower than the December flood...
too close for comfort? ... maybe...
I have faith in the levee

CRAP....
The pic has been cropped to display here and there is no road or shed visible...
Our house is the first visible roofline toward the bottom of the pic...
The barn style roof is our neighbours house...

Re: Our house in perspective...
an early morning photo ?
the shadows give an impression that the levee forms a considerable gradient down to you property, is that right ?

River goes up
River goes down
River goes up
River goes down
Teetering between 4.5--6.5 metres... 6 metres is considered flood level...
Spent the afternoon packing up the school (where I work) before we could finish for the day, in preparation for a possible Yellow Cyclone alert during the night...
All good fun up here
