Dad

right, I'm not going to turn this into a whingy whiney post, just thought I would share this little gem.

Dad is 91 and has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. At first, January,
they thought they had got it all when they operated, sadly not the case,
and today I took him to Maidstone Hospital to start a 6 week course of
treatment.

Lovely day today and we took the old A20 route, nice and leisurely.,
chatting about shit, as you do and it didn't take long before we are in
the hospital car park.
In through the automatic doors, straight in the gents he goes, a few
minutes later and he's back out saying "bloody hell I needed that" and
we walk another 20 yards to the reception "Hello, my name is #########,
says Dad "I'm the 1-45" "Hello" says receptionist "can you go and fill
this specimen bottle first"
So once the laughter has subsided LOL we wait our turn. well its not
long before they call his name, he says he doesn't want me to go in with
him and he disappears into a room with a nurse.
15 minutes later he emerges clutching a wad of paperwork with the nurse
saying "bye see you next week" and "remember, those instructions are not
negotiable, you must stick to what I have said, read that and read it
again before next week"
He says "ok bye" and then turns to me and in front of all the waiting
patients says "just my luck, having this drug means I must abstain from
having sex or if I must I have to wear a condom"

Apparently she was quite insistent FPMSL

Dad is definately a tough old stick... they don't make 'em like that these days



Sorry to hear he is having issues again, but glad to hear he is taking it in his stride... even if he does have to make extreme sacrifices like wearing a condom...



Growing old disgracefully... Love it and aspire to do the same
